Friday Faves 10.11

breakfast at tiffanys

Growing two humans is tough stuff. “Morning sickness” is not just reserved for mornings, grumpy exhaustion has led to insanely early bedtimes and around the 7 week mark, I developed a sudden aversion to anything edible that has remained with me at 15 weeks. Noontime naps are a necessity and Phenergan is my best friend. And despite that “beautiful glow” that everyone keeps pointing out, I feel like an ogre. But I can’t complain. I went through hell to get here so I am welcoming this new breed of pain. Because it’s worth it.

Lately, I have found solace in soft, comfy cottons and button-downs from B’s closet. There’s something about slipping into a fine pair of jammers that makes it all a bit better. So today I bring you Friday’s Faves – the Pajama Jam edition.

Friday Faves 7.19

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week. Boy have I been busy! So I’m keeping today’s faves short and sweet.

:: It’s BLAZING hot here. I feel like I’m living on the surface of the sun these days. And I think this weekend is definitely going to require some pool time

:: I’ve been feeling much gratitude lately for a lot of things but especially amazing friends. I’ve been a giant ball of stress lately and their little notes, talks on the drive into work and dinner dates have been the perfect medicine.

:: Guess who’s celebrating a big birthday? Cher, that’s who. Believe it or not Clueless is 18 today but let’s be real. It will forever remain timeless.

:: These studded sandals are the bomb.com! And they’re on sale.

:: This just makes me say AHHHH…

Stay cool and have a happy weekend!

Friday Faves 3.29

I’ve developed a serious problem with renovating our home. I am addicted to planning and I am failing at executing. We’re short on time as it is with our jobs and the day-to-day so finding the hours to complete projects is tough. And I spend most of that time perusing designer homes instead of designing my own!  I should probably also note that I am terrible at decision-making. I can never make up my mind – I finalize a plan and then BAM! I find something grander.

Current project? Finally getting around to our weird little 3rd bedroom soon-to-be den. It contains one of two exterior doors in the back of our house and the one most used to go in and out of each day. The thick, wide tongue and groove panels are stained a beautiful dark honey and one entire wall of windows that look out to our backyard and patio. Our intent for this room is a place to relax and read a book or just a space to escape the heat when hosting friends over for cookouts and patio parties this summer. And as much as I like the stained wood, it’s just too dark and dated.

I’m not at a loss for inspiration so I thought I would share a few of my faves:

Tell me, what are you faving today?
