As I mentioned earlier, I LOVED the ensemble I wore to last weekend’s wedding. I was running short on time to find something amazing that I looked & felt good in so I turned to my BFF – ZARA. The first pass through the dress section turned up nada so I moved on to shoes. I found these sparklers {clearly made for dancing} & immediately added them to my cart. Then I made my way back to the dresses. They’ve been hit or miss lately with sizing so I ordered a variety of options in hopes that something would work with glittery, studded heels. I was also kind of in love with this pink dress but I wouldn’t allow myself to get too attached before trying it on. Everything arrived 2 days later & I tore into the boxes like a kid on Christmas morning. I said a quiet prayer to the fashion gods, sucked in & slipped on the dress and shoes. By some miracle, it fit. Weeks of painful cardio, squats-till-you-drop & strict WW point calculating had paid off.
And then I started to worry that it looked too much like a prom dress. This was a southern wedding & much of the night would be spent outdoors surrounded by A LOT of seersucker. It’s easy to dress something up but near impossible to dress something down without the aid of flats & a denim jacket & neither were gonna happen. I grabbed this sheer grey space-dyed scarf * & said another prayer. It sounds strange but it worked! I finished things off with some dangles & a super fun clutch from Anthropologie.
I had the best time that night & for once in a long while, I felt pretty.
